Curriculum & Learning Experiences

Our self-directed approach empowers students to explore their unique interests and aptitudes while mastering essential academic foundations in a Christ-centered environment.

Learning Experiences at PSDEC

Our innovative approach to education prepares students for college, career, and life.

Competency-Based Learning

At Pathways, students progress by demonstrating mastery rather than by seat time or grade level. Our competency-based model enables each learner to progress at their own pace, ensuring a thorough understanding of core concepts before advancing.

This approach cultivates confidence, independence, and lifelong learning habits, allowing students to excel in areas of strength while receiving additional support in challenging areas.

Hands-On, Real-World Learning

Education at Pathways goes beyond the classroom. We offer real-world learning opportunities, including internships aligned with career goals, service-learning projects, and programs in entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

These experiences help students connect learning with purpose and practice, preparing them for life beyond school and developing both skills and character.

Personalized Course Selection

Each week, students design a learning plan tailored to their goals, interests, and academic needs. Whether selecting a foundational academic course or exploring creative electives, students are empowered to take ownership of their education.

Our diverse course offerings include traditional subjects plus creative options like coding, CPR certification, creative writing, apologetics, photography, and more—all guided by dedicated mentors and advisor

Dual Credit Enrollment & AP Exam Prep

Pathways SDEC offers students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school through dual enrollment partnerships with local colleges. Our AP exam preparation support also empowers students to pursue advanced coursework and demonstrate college readiness.

These academic pathways challenge students while giving them a head start towd higher education.

Internships & Career Pathways

Students explore real-world experiences through internships aligned with their career goals and interests. Our Career Pathways Program includes resume writing, industry certification prep, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship connections.

Pathways SDEC helps students discover their purpose and prepare for future success in college, careers, and beyond.
